WANT TO MAKE AN IMPACT?
Become a Recycled Resources Volunteer
Recycled Resources is able to do the work we do as a result of the dedication compassion and hard work of our volunteers. We LOVE our volunteers. Recycled Resources asks each of our volunteers to attend a 4 hour training prior to engaging in volunteer work with our guests in order to make sure they are safe, educated about the people we serve, and are matched to the volunteer position that is best for them.
Goals of Recycled Resources volunteer trainings
-
Help new volunteers get to know our history, mission, goals, philosophies, and the programs we offer
-
Educate our volunteers about what is expected of them
-
Offer new skills. Our training includes education on the Los Angeles homeless epidemic, what the city and county are doing to address this issue, mental health, substance use, harm reduction, crisis intervention, communication skills, and outreach and engagement techniques.
-
Provide hands on experience through role playing and creative thinking.
-
Explore your desires for volunteering and help match you to opportunity you are seeking

Drop-In Center Volunteer
Our Drop-In Center operates every Saturday from 9AM-12PM. Our Drop-In Center keeps us connected to the people we serve and offers a hot brunch at 10AM, clothing, hygiene products, bus passes, CES entry, case management, and linkage to resources. We need the support of our community in order to make our Drop-In Center successful. Our Drop-In Center is perfect for community groups, families, and organizations who want to work together to make a difference in the lives around them. We need groups interested in cooking and serving brunch for about 70 guests. We need folks to volunteer and share their talents with our guests. Are you an artist? Come and teach a class. Can you sing? Come entertain our guests. Can you play chess? Our guests are waiting to challenge you! Our Drop-In Center is a community and we invite you to come be a part of our family.
